Danny Wells,
didn't start out with a plan like most average musicians.
It was Christmas morning at age 12 when Danny recieved a
4-10 shotgun for a present. After a year of sitting and
collecting dust Danny's father finally realized that he
probably was not the hunter type and replaced the gun with
a Silvertone guitar with an Amplifier in the guitar case from
Sears and Roebuck. This, now would be his weapon of
choice and unto this world another musician was born. A
family friend gave a few lessons to him and soon he was on his
way. His parents were great supporters of his craft and often
they would have to drive him to gigs as he was not yet old
enough to have a drivers license. Danny had a number of
friends who played also such as Jimi Moore, Phil Fischer and Steve
Mottin. Steve taught Danny to play chess and
Danny was never able to beat Steve but still loved the
game. Danny and Jimi & Steve played together in
their very first bands. With names like "The Third Eye" and
"Street Light Icebox" they played for their peers at TeenTown &
CYC dances and other school events. In 1969
they were fortunate enough to have performed on the famed
"Corky the Clown Show " which broadcasted on KSD
Channel 5. Danny's early musical influences were Fats
Domino, Elvis, The Beatles, Sam & Dave, The Cream, Jimi
Hendricks and Blue Cheer and too many others to mention. He
played a variety of styles throughout his youth as to create a more
well rounded musician. He spent years playing up and down the
famed St.Charles Rock Road in the 70's when the music was
abounding. More music, more bands throughout the 80's he came
in contact and played with many different musicians playing Rock,
Blues, Country & Variety. In March, 1988, he teamed up with
Stacey in the band Lucky Star. Together they toured the
US, and Canada, performing and enjoying the friends made along
the way. Danny is thankful that his life had been full of
music and happy now that he is able to do what he loves with
people that he enjoys doing it with.
